Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested Tuesday after a car chase in his hometown of Bayonne, New Jersey, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
Britt is charged with eluding a police officer, lying to an officer and obstructing governmental function. The eluding police charge is a felony, while the other two charges are misdemeanors.
According to the report, police attempted to pull Britt over after he was clocked driving 71 mph in a 50-mph zone. When an officer attempted to pull Britt over, he took off in his Porsche and began weaving in and out of traffic.
The vehicle eventually exited the highway and police spotted the Porsche on a side street with Britt and another man walking away from the vehicle. Britt told the officer neither of the men were in the car. At one point during the back and fourth with the officer, Britt's friend took off running. He was apprehended by police a short distance away.
The report goes on to say, Britt finally admitted that the car was his, but told authorities he wasn't driving at the time of the incident.
According to FOX Sports, Britt is the tenth NFL player arrested since the lockout began on March 11.
