John Elway wins again with Peyton Manning signing
John Elway just pulled off what may be his greatest football accomplishment yet. And that's saying a lot.
Elway, a two-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Famer, managed to rid theBroncos of Tim Tebow without turning a legion of rabid Tebow fans against him and the franchise. He did it by signing former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning to a five-year, $96 million contract.

Peyton Manning Out After Neck Surgery
The Indianapolis Colts announced today that quarterback Peyton Manning will likely miss significant time this season after having neck surgery on Thursday. The Colts decided to keep Manning on the active roster, hoping he can return later in the season.Manning, 35, is a four-time NFL MVP and hasn't missed a game in 14 NFL seasons, with 227 consecutive starts, including postseason.
Manning, who signed a five-year, $90 million contract in July, also had neck surgery in May of this year and February 2010.
Fantasy impact: The fantasy impact is huge. Manning is considered a top 5 quarterback and losing him is a big blow to teams that drafted him. The fantasy impact will also be felt by owners who drafted Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie and Dallas Clark. Having Kerry Collins throwing to them devalues the trio immensely. Possible replacements for Manning: Colt McCoy (8 or 9 favorable match-ups), David Garrard (he'll land somewhere) and Donovan McNabb (wild card with a couple favorable match-ups).

Indianapolis Colts place franchise tag on Peyton Manning
In a move many people saw coming, the Indianapolis Colts have reportedly placed the franchise tag on quarterback Peyton Manning. According the Associated Press, the Colts have not announced the move, but it's a done deal.
Under the agreement of the franchise tag, Manning will be paid $23 million next season and the Colts will have exclusive rights to negotiate a future contract.
Manning, who will be 35 in June, is the only player in NFL history to win four league MVP awards. He also has one Super Bowl win and a Super Bowl MVP.

2011 Fantasy Football Scouting Report: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
2010 Stats | 4670 yds. | 33 TDs | 17 INTs |
2011 Projected | 4520 yds. | 31 TDs | 17 INTs |
Manning's starting to lose value because of the players around him. The Colts lack a consistent running game and their offensive line did a poor job protecting Manning in 2010. Manning is still a very solid fantasy football player, but he needs players around him to step-up. He should get tight end Dallas Clark back this year, as well as Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez and possibly Austin Collie. The Colts also added offensive tackle Anthony Costanzo and offensive guard Ben Ijalana in the 2011 NFL Draft to help bolster their offensive line.
