Peyton Manning Era Begins in Denver

The Peyton Manning era is officially underway in Denver. According to NFL Network's Michelle Beisner, Manning was the first person to report to Broncos' headquarters this morning for the first day of voluntary workouts.

Rex Ryan to Patriots Fan: "Shut the Fuck Up"

If you watch New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan on the sidelines during a game, you notice one thing very quickly, the guy likes to swear (a lot). I'm not a lip reader, but he drops the F-bomb more times than Eddie Murphy and NWA combined.

According to Mike Freeman from CBSSports.com, the NFL is looking into an incident in which Ryan told a New England fan to "Shut the fuck up." (Warning: video contains explicit language.)

Ryan has a history of reacting to heckling fans. In February 2010, he was fined $50,000 for an obscene gesture.

NFL Lockout's Impact On The New York Jets

There could be several free agents leaving the Jets and it could affect their upcoming season. The Jets aren't sure if wide receivers Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards will be back or if Antonio Cromartie will be opposite Darrelle Revis in 2011. Those three players played significant roles in the success of the Jets. One thing we do know about the Jets, quarterback Mark Sanchez will be back and so will head coach Rex Ryan. There is a solid foundation in place and the Jets should be just fine once the 2011 season begins.

LaDainian Tomlinson returning to New York Jets

It appears New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson will get one more run at a Super Bowl. The Jets announced yesterday the 31-year-old back will return next season.

Tomlinson, who will turn 32 before the season, was exceptional for the Jets last season, rushing for 914 yards and six touchdowns.

During his 10-year career, Tomlinson has rushed for over 13,000 yards and scored 159 touchdowns.

List of NFL teams that have used 2011 Franchise Tag

Today is the last day NFL teams can use their franchise or transition tag on potential free agents. However, we still don't know if either tag will be anything when a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is reached between the NFL and NFL Players Association.

While NFL teams are starting to use their franchise tags, the player's union argues without a CBA - which expires on March 3, 2011 - the franchise tag would no longer exist.

As the two sides crawl to a CBA resolution, here's a list of the players who have been franchise or transition tagged.

New York Jets place franchise tag on David Harris

NFL Network Insider Jason La Canfora is reporting the New York Jets have placed the franchise tag on linebacker David Harris.

According to La Canfora, Harris' one-year contract will be worth around $10 million, which was the average of the five highest-paid linebackers from the 2010 season.

Harris, who is 27, led the Jets with 99 tackles in 2010.

2012 NFL Super Bowl XLVI Odds

With the 2010-2011 NFL season now history, it’s time to start looking ahead to next season. Assuming there is a season this fall, it’s never too soon to start handicapping the race for next Super Bowl champion.

Less than 24 hours after the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV, the 2012 Super Bowl odds have been released. And much to my surprise, the Packers are not the early favorites.

2011 Fantasy Football Scouting Report: Mark Sanchez, QB, New York Jets

2010 Stats	3291 yds.	17 TDs	13 INTs
2011 Projected	3320 yds.	19 TDs	15 INTs

Sanchez played very well down the stretch last year and made some big throws. Sanchez is entering his third season as a starter and should be poised to take his game to the next level. It'll be important for the Jets to retain Santonio Holmes, who is scheduled to become a free agent this off season. Braylon Edwards is also a free agent, but Holmes should be the priority. Sanchez and Holmes clicked last season and looked very comfortable together later in the year. If Edwards leaves, Sanchez and the Jets will need to find another big receiver or the Jets offense could regress in 2011.
