It's an end of an era in Washington as the Redskins released running back Clinton Portis today.
Portis, who will turn 30 in September, has been plagued by injuries the past couple of seasons. Portis missed 11 games in 2010 and eight games in 2009 due to various injuries.
Portis is just 77 yards shy of 10,000 yards during his career, which would make him only the 26th back in league history to reach that mark.
The Redskins will look to Ryan Torain and Keiland Williams to carry the load at running back now.
Portis was set to make a $5.4 million roster bonus this offseason.
