Carolina Panthers sign Jeremy Shockey

So much for a publicist or agent, recently released tight end Jeremy Shockey announced on Facebook and Twitter that he's joining the Carolina Panthers.

The former New Orleans Saint, posted a message saying:

"Looks like I'm signing with Carolina. Time for the Next chapter. This is a great opportunity for me, and I am excited to play football."

Shockey, who turns 31 in the fall, was released last week by the Saints.

Shockey's entering his tenth season in the NFL. For his career he has 510 catches, 5,688 yards and 33 TDs.
